$10 challenge

Think about this week.  What are you going to spend $10 on?  Eating out, Starbucks, a book, music....?
What if that same $10 that could give you a caffeine fix two days this week could be used to bring hope and change to a Mozambiquan boy?
Well you're in luck!  Because I know of a way that's possible...
Beacon of Hope  is a ministry that I had the honor of being a part of in my journey around the world.  The month I spent there was different than every other month on the World Race for me.  It was the one and only month that I did not get homesick.  It was the one and only month that felt like I was home away from home.  I quickly fell in love with Angie, her family, and her ministry.  I never ever wanted to leave.  You can read about my love for this ministry here.  In short Beacon of Hope is a home for teenage boys where they learn a trade, academics, and the Gospel.  It is a 3 year program that prepares them with a way to earn a living and with a firm understanding of living a life of integrity.  Check out the website and learn more here.
I am a firm believer in what Angie is doing in Mozambique.  She is pouring Christ into teenage boys lives that would probably only receive some distorted form of what they think is Christianity (ancestor worship, sacrifices) or witchcraft.  She is raising up a generation of upstanding, honest men full of integrity and honor.  As most of you probably know that's a rarity in Mozambique or even Africa in general.  The constant corruption and evil that is present there is overwhelming.  It takes one person, like Angie, to pour into the lives of a few boys for an exponential result to happen.  Those boys leave Beacon of Hope as men of God changed and ready for action.  They share this love and hope of the true Gospel wherever they may go, and then those they share with share, and then those share, and so on and so on.  Then before we know it, a whole village is changed!  Then a whole city, then a whole nation, and then a whole continent.  (I like to think BIG!)  I love Angie's heart for these boys.  I love her compassion for the people of Mozambique.  Please join me with your $10 to celebrate 10 years of this wonderful ministry Beacon of Hope.  Let's do this!
